AEAS ライティング:形式と対策方法
語数の条件、ジャンル、すぐ使えるテンプレートとフレーズ集、そして最も減点されやすいミス。
AEAS のライティングは 30 分の課題 1 つですが、最低語数と文章の種類の幅は学年帯によって変わります。
語数
Year 4-9 は 150 語以上、Year 10-12 は 200 語以上です。これは目標ではなく最低ラインで、余裕なくぎりぎり最低語数で書いた文章は、あまり良い印象を与えません。
変わるのは話題だけでなく、文章の種類
実際の問題には、個人の体験談("tell us about a mistake you made")、意見文("discuss both viewpoints, using examples" を含む)、カジュアルな手紙とフォーマルな手紙(お詫びの手紙、いじめについて校長に宛てた手紙)、そして Year 10-12 では雑誌記事があります。文章の種類はたいてい問題文に明記されているので("Write a letter to..."、"Write an article for...")、最初に確認すべきは話題ではなく、答えをどんな形式で書く必要があるかです。
箇条書きのヒント
実際の試験では、低学年だけでなくすべての学年帯で、答えの手がかりとなる箇条書きが示されます。1 つ 1 つの項目は採点者が確認する小さな条件で、1 つ書き漏らすほうが、文章が少し短いことより大きな損失になります。
実際に採点されるもの
学年帯ごとの問題冊子で採点基準の言い方は少し違いますが、扱う内容は同じです:書いた内容と構成、そして言葉と語彙の正確さです。
- 書き始める前に、問題が文章の種類(手紙、記事、物語文)を指定しているか確認し、話題だけでなく口調と形式も合わせましょう。
- すべての箇条書きを、提案ではなく必ず答えるべき条件として扱いましょう。時間が切れる前に、1 つずつ書けているか見直しましょう。
- 自分の学年帯の実際の最低語数で、30 分の時間制限をつけて練習しましょう。語数に届く前に時間切れになるのは、よくあるけれど避けられる失点です。
- 書き終えた文章に当サイトの AI フィードバックを使い、初めて読む人が最初に何に気づくかを確認しましょう。同じ弱点のまま何本も書くのではなく、次の練習でそこを直しましょう。
テンプレートはそのまま写すものではなく、頭の中に置いておく型です。そうすれば、白紙を前にどう書き始めるか迷うことはありません。問題の文章の種類に合う型を選び、自分の内容を入れましょう。試験では英語で書くので、下のテンプレートと表現は英語のままにしています。

Paragraph 1: Introduction State the topic in your own words, then give your opinion (or say you'll discuss both sides, if that's what's asked). Paragraph 2: First point / viewpoint Make one clear point. Add one specific example or reason. Paragraph 3: Second point / viewpoint A second point (or the opposing viewpoint, if discussing both). Add one specific example or reason. Paragraph 4: Conclusion Restate your opinion in different words. Don't introduce a new idea here.

引きつける書き出し
- 学年帯の最低語数に届かない:内容が読まれる前に機械的にチェックされるので、どれだけ良い文章でも減点されます。
- 問題で指定された文章の種類を無視する:手紙を求められているのにエッセイのように書くと、語彙が良くても課題から外れていると読まれます。
- 箇条書きを 1 つ飛ばす:1 つ 1 つが小さな条件で、採点者は書きやすいものだけでなく、すべてを確認します。
- 段落に分けない:同じ内容、同じ語数でも、ひとかたまりの文章は段落がはっきりした文章より良い評価を得にくくなります。
- 同じつなぎ言葉を繰り返す("and then... and then... and then"):実際の力より流暢さに欠けるように読まれてしまう、一番の近道の 1 つです。
- 時間切れで結論がない:終わっていない文章は、少し短くても完成した文章より悪く読まれるので、しっかり締めくくる時間を残しましょう。
