1NOT / EXCEPT questions (about one in eight): circle the NOT before you read the options.
2Then check every option against the text. The one you can't find is the answer.
3True or False has no "Not Given". If the text doesn't support the statement, it's False.
4Find the word that changed: "only" becomes "both", or "harmless" becomes "harmful".
