A simple shape for "Tell us about a time…" writing tasks.

1. 1Set the scene: when and where, in one sentence.
2. 2Tell what happened, in order, with time words: then, after that, a week later.
3. 3Say how you felt, and why. It's often a bullet point in the task.
4. 4End with what you learned, or what you'd do differently.
5. 5Keep the whole story in the past tense: go becomes went, feel becomes felt.
